The Seven Deadly Sins of Trussed Rafter Construction

As a successful innovation into the construction industry, trussed rafters are surely without equal. Sure there were a few early teething problems, but since the 1960’s they have become the norm for supporting roofs in domestic properties. In more recent times their use has extended to commercial and institutional buildings.

When specifying, inspecting or otherwise utilising trussed rafters, there is a fine line between success and disappointment. Cross that line, there can be problems, stay the right side and trussed rafters will be your best friend.

Drawing on a career which included advising trussed rafter manufacturers and chairing a British Standards committee preparing design and construction standards for roof trusses, this entertaining talk will keep on that right side in a way that is both light hearted and informative.

A 20 page paper on Trussed Rafters will be available at this presentation.
